The headline of this article was a major highlight of the Superintendent’s Pen’s section of the 13th December, 2020 Vol. 9.1 edition of Sunday’s life transforming bulletin.
The message embedded in this word of wisdom is so large and inspiring, leading to our correspondence, Timothy Akinyomi, concluding a brief expository on this maxim.
The time of crisis is a perfect moment to showcase all our virtues and put our character to good test. The wind of crisis are so turbulent that it gives no room for preparation or pretence. The behavioural patterns exhibited during this period are spontaneous and reflex. The said behaviours can well be concluded to be your character.
We know the time of crisis are not long-lived. As such, the time of stillness should not be taken for granted. Make the most of the peaceful period to build your character and let your character be full of the components of the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23), not lacking any. Put yourself (character) to good test now to prove your character is lacking none of the components of the fruit of the spirit.
The calmness (say stillness) of the waters allows for the sailing of the boat but the storm put the boat to test and only a well built boat outlives the storm.
Make the most of this time now and ensure your boat (spiritual life) is full of the whole Armour of God so that you can stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).
